Nae JessiesEntries are now open for the UK's most prestigious soapbox race - Cairngorm Soapbox Extreme - and they're going fast!

Two miles of tarmac and head to head racing at speeds in excess of 60mph make this event unique it the UK's soapbox racing calendar.

Cairngorm extreme.

Am i right in thinking the cairngorm is no more? Also can i join and post in the forums without having a team name and no actual cartie as of yet.Last but not least my building of a cartie is mainly for the kids(9+11) but would they be eligable for any of the uk events?

Hi Lee,

Yes I'm afraid you are correct - there will be no soapbox racing at Cairngorm for the foreseeable future. See here for full details.

By all means register on the SCA site and post in the forum - the more the merrier! You don't need to be an active racer to do that. As for the kids - the best thing is to check with the individual race organisers. Some races are specifically aimed at juniors or have junior age classes, while others are unsuitable for younger racers. Which races did you have in mind?
